Not that I'd ever patronise a site that was only compliant with the browser born to the cripple and the village idiot but it's a good proof-of-concept and works like a charm. I've tried the user agent switcher in Safari v4.0.x to do the same thing since I installed it (including at beta stage as Hotmail isn't IE only but won't work on browsers in beta) but with no success. I do find Safari a faster browser and on OS X 10.5.8 it's the only 64-bit application I run so it's good to use, but good on you Mozilla, and chrispederick, for your awesome work. What if U use Linux??? I tried opera, and it fakes very well the user agent, but this addon to Firefox is an alternative. I believe that web developers have to think again before choosing the default browser.
