Windows Azure pricing for Extra Small Virtual Machine

pvieira asked:

My question is about the price calculation for a Virtual Machine hosted in Window Azure.

I have two VMs of type “Extra Small” which are running 24h/day.

On my detailed bill there is a graph that shows the number of hours consumed per day. I can see that I’m consuming 4 hours per day.

Why is that? I was expecting to see at least 24h/day, per VM.

Does it mean that an Extra Small VM (shared core) also has shared cost? If so, what is the exact cost of 1 Extra Small VM per day?

I answered:

Windows Azure Pricing clearly states that an Extra Small instance is 1/6 the cost of a Small instance. (At least until June 1, when the prices change.)
